On Friday 4th April, Zehra visited our school for a memorable and engaging event that left both children and staff inspired. The visit was part of our school book day which focused on creating a love of reading and writing, and it certainly succeeded in achieving that goal.
From the moment Zehra entered our school, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. The author kicked things off with a lively talk about their journey into writing, sharing personal anecdotes about their early experiences and how they overcame challenges to become a published author. It was both inspiring and relatable, especially for the children aspiring to become writers themselves.
The author’s storytelling was a highlight of the visit. She read excerpts from her latest books, bringing the characters to life with dramatic flair, much to the delight of the children. The way Zehra interacted with the children, asking thought-provoking questions and encouraging them to share their own ideas, created an interactive environment where everyone felt involved. The drawing demonstration was another standout moment. It was clear that the author had not only made an impression on the children but had also ignited their curiosity about the craft of writing.
The event wrapped up with a book signing, where children had the opportunity to get their copies of the book signed. It was a wonderful way to conclude the day and allowed the children to leave with a tangible memory of the experience.
Overall, the author visit was a resounding success. Zehra not only entertained and educated but also inspired a new generation of readers and writers and many children are now eager to dive into Zehra's books for themselves.

We had the very enthusiastic Dan Freedman for an Author Visit on the 7th March and were so thrilled with the author talk that took place. Our year 7 pupils found him so engaging and were excited to have the opportunity to meet with Dan. Dan Freedman's talk was very inspiring to our pupils and since the talk we have many inquiries in the Library to loan his books which has inspired them to read.

Hi.
Jason was excellent. The children loved his assembly in which he combined reading parts from his books with hilarious slapstick comedy. Although the workshops were good, I think the children would have liked more drama. We will definitely invite him back again. He made everyone smile from the start to the end.

Ian engaged my Year 8s as he delved into his world of fantasy with goblins and mystery. He was so accommodating, being available to meet ahead of the sessions to ensure everything ran smoothly. He gave my pupils good tips for the writing process which he worked through with them. They particularly enjoyed his reading of key parts of his story. Ian's material suits a more mature audience, and he was willing to answer questions and engaged well with my pupils.
