Feedback from events

Ken provided engaging activities which students enjoyed taking part in. He was a hit with many of our students - some of whom asked if he would come back the next day! Activities were suitable for Years 7 through to Year 9. Overall, the students had a productive day working with Ken. Thank you.

Our visit from Tim was fantastic, he was engaging and allowed the children to ask many questions. His PowerPoint was appropriately targeted to their age range and the children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, especially the puzzles. The only thing I’d say for the future is to allow more time for the writing part of the workshop! The children didn’t want to stop but unfortunately they ran out of time. They could take these home to continue but it would be great to have more time in the workshop.

Kimberly came into school to do her author visit, all went well and we are really happy with the visit. The children were all engaged and very positive about the whole process. Kimberly was professional throughout and really engaging with the children. We will defiantly be having her back in the future.

Siski’s visit was truly fantastic from start to finish. The children were completely engaged and inspired by the perfect blend of real-life nature learning, humour and storytelling. It was such a memorable experience for them, they were buzzing with excitement afterwards and continued talking about it long after the day. A brilliant, enriching experience that brought learning to life.

An excellent day with Bryher! Her workshops were engaging and creative. The children were full of questions and interest, we loved having her at our school!

Daniel was amazing and made the Shakespeare talk very relatable to the audience. He was charming and very friendly and answered all the audience's questions. He compared Shakespeare films with Shakespeare on stage and compared it to story lines in gangster films which were very similar but with different language. Daniel also showed us films from different decades and the differences. He was an amazing author with lots of knowledge and would love to have him back in the future.

Karen engaged the children from the very start with her warm, enthusiastic approach and her ability to bring stories to life. She shared her creative process in a way that was accessible and exciting, helping the children to understand how ideas can grow into stories and illustrations. The sessions were thoughtfully pitched, ensuring all children felt included and motivated to take part. The children particularly enjoyed the interactive elements of the workshop, where they were encouraged to use their imagination, contribute ideas, and develop their own storytelling skills. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they realised that their ideas were valued.

We were incredibly happy with Ashley's visit! His assembly was great and the children really enjoyed the workshops. He left them very inspired and the children continued working on their stories at home.

Claire came into the school and ran a series of workshops with all the children. They were very well received, with the children enjoying both Claire's book and the opportunity to see their ideas brought to life through pictures. It was great for them to engage with an author.
